Women's Yoga: Helps and Benefits Every Woman
Trauma Releasing Yoga
Men and women are different in everything – we differ biologically, have different inner worlds, and unique perspectives on the surrounding world. It’s not for nothing that they say men and women are from different planets! Biologists, doctors, psychologists, and of course, Eastern Energy practices, including Yoga and Qigong practitioners, all agree on this. Only special women’s yoga (also known as yogatherapy) can take into account all the peculiarities of the female body and mind, allowing you to achieve results that are impossible within the framework of regular “male” practices.
So, how does the female body differ from the male’s? In short, women have a cyclical nature – the functioning of their bodies and their mental state undergo constant changes, and they go through several phases. Even every man knows this: today a woman can be cheerful, full of energy, and tomorrow she may feel down and not want anything. Changes in desires, moods, physical, and mental states are a normal part of a woman’s life, and this should always be taken into account.
Yoga for women’s health should be built on the principles of a woman’s cyclical nature, taking into account the peculiarities of the female body and psychology. Only in this way can yoga and asanas for women’s health provide real benefits and work with maximum efficiency.
What are the principles of women’s yoga based on?
The main principle that makes yoga beneficial for the female body is adaptation to the female cycle. The entire cycle is divided into two main phases – the estrogen phase and the progesterone phase, named after the dominant hormones during these periods. In the first phase, yoga for women’s health consists of active exercises (somewhat “masculine” in a sense), requiring strength and energy. In the second phase, such activities should be avoided, and yoga is centered around “female” asanas aimed at stretching, breathing, and vocalization.
Most importantly, women’s yoga involves asanas adapted to the peculiarities of the female body, its anatomy, and capabilities. It focuses on the pelvic area (pelvic floor muscles, hip mobility, etc.) and breathing. Exercises to release internal tensions and blocks, relaxation, and stress relief also play a significant role. Ultimately, women’s yoga (yogatherapy) aims to harmonize a woman’s inner state.
Who and when is women’s yoga beneficial for?
There are no specific limitations for practicing women’s yoga; it benefits women of all ages. However, if you are looking to lose weight through home workouts, this practice may not fully meet your expectations. Women’s yoga is designed to address the issues that are typical for the female body and is most beneficial to health when there is a threat to that health. This is why it is called women’s yoga!
It makes sense to consider women’s yoga in several cases:
- Menstrual cycle problems – irregularities, pain, etc.
- Severe PMS – increased nervousness, irritability, and other typical symptoms.
- Menopause and the associated emotional and physical discomfort.
- A lack of a sense of feminine energy, strength, and femininity.
- Inconsistencies and complexities in the internal state, a desire to achieve inner peace and happiness.
- Some issues with body shape, flexibility, and overall health.
- Practically every woman of any age encounters these problems, and if you notice any of them in yourself, women’s yoga, can help you!
